China 3rd April – United States district court for the eastern district of North Carolina issued notice today that the Court will hold a hearing on FirstDart’s motion for preliminary injunction on Wednesday, April 26 in Raleigh, North Carolina.

FirstDart, who were the subject of a Press Release from DSM Dyneema on the 8th November 2011, have previously refuted the claim that preventative action related to misuse of the Dyneema® trademark was taken against them during the recent 2011 Fishing Show, which was held in Langfang, Heibei province, (located between Beijing and Tianjing in China), during July 26-29.

A FirstDart spokesman said “This is good news since it tends to show that the Court understands the importance of this issue and that it intends to address the injunction request quickly.”

China 22nd February 2012 – FirstDart Fishing Tackle have today filed a complaint against DSM Dyneema in the United States district court for the eastern district of North Carolina under the Reference Civil Action No. 4:12cv27.

A FirstDart spokesman said “Following the unfounded allegations made against us by DSM in their press release of 8th November 2011 we wrote to DSM on 21st December 2011 pointing out the inaccuracy of their statement and asking them to take restorative measures to avoid further damage to our reputation. DSM failed to respond to this letter so we instructed our lawyers to write to them, which they did on 12th January 2012. DSM have failed to respond to that letter as well. By writing to DSM we had hoped to avoid time consuming and expensive litigation but as DSM have failed to respond to FirstDart over these issues we had no alternative other than to hand the matter to the court”

It has been a year to make us proud. FirstDart started 2011 with a new Carp Braid collection and our new Helix HCB launched during China Fish. A two storey booth was the perfect set up to display our new range.

FirstDart was also present in EFTTEX (Amsterdam) and Icast (Las Vegas).  We also made a second appearance at Brazil Sport Fishing Trade Show in Sao Paulo and Moscow Fishing Show. We have been all over the globe adding a truly international dimension to our business.
